Gladys Hooks Ellis of Dermott, AR, born in Carrollton, MS. on January 23, 1915, died at her home in Jackson, TN on Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Ralph B “Bill” Ellis and her daughter: Jean Ellis Frazier.
She is survived by her children; Julia Ellis Austin, Burt Ellis , Tommy Ellis, and Paula Ellis Ferguson She had 8 grandchildren and 10 great grand children.
Mrs. Ellis was an Elder in Dermott Presbyterian Church. She was also active in her community.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Griffin Funeral Service in McGehee.
Graveside services will be held at Dermott Cemetery at 11 am Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
The family requests that memorial gifts be made to the American Heart Assoc., St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Dermott Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee.
